A feature rich website for the Association of British Climbing Walls
Overview – Website, Branding, Design, Functionality
To bring ABC up to speed, to provide it’s members with a single location for logging their data, discussing climbing wall needs, to publish the latest news, events, and information, a new site was proposed. A site with an all new visual identity, with the ability to find information about the member’s facilities, by location or by name. With the ability for the facility owners to edit their own information, allowing them to take ownership of their own page on the site.
Logo Design and Branding
The existing branding was looking a bit dated and so required an update. We redesigned the logo using a modern flat design, retaining the roundel layout and adopting a red white and blue colour scheme, with echoes of the RAF – appropriate to a British association!
Before and after …
These blues and reds are used throughout the website, the muted, darker hues giving a professional and authoritative feel to the site.
Find a Wall
We used Google maps to build a ‘find a wall’ feature, with the ability to find bouldering walls, climbing walls or walls offering both bouldering and climbing.
Accident Reporting
We added the ability for climbing walls to report any accidents via the site, so that the information can be collated anonymously and used to help improve the safety of the sport in the future.
